The Tor Marancia district is part of a rapidly evolving sector of Rome. It is characterized by vast green spaces like the Tor Marancia Park and a growing number of landmarks, such as the Big City Life murals, the future cultural center, and the redevelopment of Piazza dei Navigatori. However, the neighborhood is still affected by a lack of public spaces intended as places for social gathering and interaction.
Adopting the principles of the Urban Regeneration Law, the project intervenes in a degraded area by demolishing a long-disused office building and creating a new residential complex consisting of five towers and new public spaces. Soil decongestion, a reduced building footprint, and the opening of new urban vistas are the core principles guiding the new volumes. The primary spark for transformation begins at the ground level, through an intervention designed to foster interaction areas and activate new neighborhood connections. The inclusion of off-site areas, such as Viale Veronese, aims to extend the new urban organism, improving the quality of the existing fabric and promoting the surrounding territory. Consequently, the Ecological Network is strengthened through new green areas, permeable surfaces, and the enhancement of the connection with the adjacent Tor Marancia Park.
