The redevelopment of the San Vittore waste-to-energy plant uses the tools of architecture to drive a shift in the culture of waste, transforming its perception from something marginal to a key component of the circular economy. The project builds a new image of this metamorphosis by proposing a renewed landscape — both physical and cultural.
The plant is reimagined: no longer a place of exclusion, but a space for reintegration; no longer a symbol of fear, but an opportunity for attraction. In doing so, the intervention embraces the responsibilities of our time, in which human activity is recognized as a primary driver of territorial, structural, and climatic transformation.
The proposed aesthetic is a synthesis of a paradigm shift, contrasting former perceptions with a new interpretation: from dirty to clean, from closed to open, from negative to positive.
