The construction site for Piazza Risorgimento opens

The redevelopment project for Piazza Risorgimento, curated by IT’S with NET Engineering, was presented at the Capitol by Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, in the presence of the CEO of Giubileo 2025, Marco Sangiorgio, and the Head of Project Management Giubileo 2025 Spa, Alessandro Flaccovio.

In preparation for the 2025 Jubilee, the goal is to increase pedestrian space and enhance the historical elements of the square, improving its accessibility and functionality to accommodate and manage the large expected influx of pilgrims, tourists, and residents.

“The project aims to work in continuity with the traces of a place with a multifaceted identity, reimagining it as a new ecosystem capable of creating new environmental, social, and sensory connections with the surroundings. The ground of the intervention areas will be restored to its natural state, animated by large objects designed to activate new forms of public use of the space. Piazza Risorgimento will be multiple places within the same place: a garden, a square, a new urban ecosystem,” said Alessandro Cambi, partner of IT’S.
